WHAT WE TRANSLATE

The Thai Diploma (ปริญญาบัตร (Parinyabat) / school Por.Por.2 (ปพ.2))

For higher education, Thailand issues the ปริญญาบัตร (parinyabat) degree certificate, conferred by the university council and frequently bearing a royal or institutional seal because Thai degrees are traditionally presented in the King's name. Secondary graduates instead hold the Por.Por.2 (ปพ.2) certificate issued by the school under the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education. Degree certificates state the graduate's Thai name, the faculty, the conferred degree and class of honors, dated in the Buddhist Era. Many Thai universities now issue an English-language diploma alongside the Thai one, but if only the Thai ปริญญาบัตร exists, USCIS and employers require a full certified translation. For an H-1B, EB-2/EB-3, or O-1 petition this translation typically feeds a NACES credential evaluation, so the translator must render the exact degree title, faculty, honors, and B.E. graduation date, keep the name matching the passport, and append a signed accuracy statement.

WHO ISSUES IT

Where Your Thai Diploma Comes From

Thai diplomas are issued by the awarding school or university itself — the exact office and registration system are described above. Thailand acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, but it takes effect only on 28 February 2027; until then, Thai documents are authenticated by consular legalization through the Legalization Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Chaeng Watthana Rd., Bangkok). USCIS REQUIREMENTS

How USCIS Wants Your Thai Diploma Translated

For your Thai diploma, USCIS requires a complete English translation of everything on the page — the issuing office’s details, seals, and any marginal notes included — plus a signed certification of accuracy under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). Machine translation cannot sign that certification. We reproduce the document's exact layout so an officer can compare it line by line against your Thai original.

WATCH OUT FOR

Common Thai Diploma Pitfalls

Thai diplomas should have institution names, degree titles, and honors transliterated and labeled rather than 'converted' to a US equivalent — that judgment belongs to the credential evaluator (WES/NACES), not the translator.

Native Thai Specialist

A native speaker of your document's language handles it — not a generalist or a machine.

Format-Matched to the Original

USCIS Acceptance Guaranteed
