Nepal's school-level credential is the SEE grade-sheet and character certificate (Grade 10, the exam long nicknamed the 'Iron Gate') and the Grade 12 School Leaving Certificate, both issued by the National Examination Board (NEB) at Sanothimi, Bhaktapur — not by the individual school. Since 2016 results are reported on a letter-grade GPA scale (A+ down to the D+ minimum, on a 4.0 basis) rather than raw marks, so a certified English translation must reproduce the grade table and the GPA legend faithfully, without 'converting' grades into an American equivalent — that is the credential evaluator's job, not the translator's. The certificate shows the student's name and date of birth in Bikram Sambat and carries the NEB embossed seal and controller's signature; provisional and final versions differ. For USCIS education-based filings (H-1B, EB-2/EB-3) that pair with a WES or ECE evaluation, translate every field including the symbol number, subjects, grades, and the NEB seal verbatim, and attach the translator's signed 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) certification.
