"Diploma" covers two distinct Polish documents. The secondary-school świadectwo dojrzałości (maturity certificate) has, since the 2005 nowa matura reform, been issued by the regional Okręgowa Komisja Egzaminacyjna (OKE) rather than the individual school, listing externally-examined subject percentages. The university dyplom ukończenia studiów is issued by the uczelnia (higher-education institution) under the rector's signature and states the degree title — licencjat (bachelor), inżynier (engineer), or magister / magister inżynier (master) — plus the field and specialization. Recent diplomas are a compact A4 card; pre-2005 ones are larger and differently numbered. For USCIS H-1B, O-1, or EB petitions the exact degree title and its US equivalent are what matter, so the translator must not loosely flatten magister to a generic "master's" without preserving the Polish original. Diplomas carry a serial number and often a hologram. We translate the degree title, field of study, and date verbatim, keep the Polish title beside its English equivalent, and note that the suplement/transcript is a separate document USCIS may also request.
