WHAT WE TRANSLATE

The Turkish Academic Transcript (Not Durum Belgesi (Transkript))

The Turkish transcript is the "Not Durum Belgesi" (also "Transkript" or "Not Döküm Belgesi"), issued by the university's Öğrenci İşleri Daire Başkanlığı (Student Affairs). It lists each course, its AKTS/ECTS credits, a letter grade (AA, BA, BB, CB…) or 0–100 score, and the cumulative GPA labeled AGNO (Ağırlıklı Genel Not Ortalaması), typically on a 4.00 scale. Because Turkey converts percentage grades to the 4.0 scale using YÖK's official conversion table (mandatory since 2016–2017), the grade legend printed on the document must be translated so a U.S. evaluator can read the scale. Many universities issue an English transcript directly, and a QR/barcode copy is downloadable from e-Devlet via YÖK; still, if the copy is Turkish, USCIS and evaluators (WES, ECE) require a certified English translation. Course titles must be translated rather than left in Turkish, and the semester labels (Güz/Bahar = Fall/Spring) rendered. Keep the student's name and diploma/student number identical to the diploma so the two documents reconcile.

WHO ISSUES IT

Where Your Turkish Academic Transcript Comes From

Turkish academic transcripts are issued by the awarding school or university itself — the exact office and registration system are described above. Turkey has been a party to the Hague Apostille Convention since 1985, so its documents receive an apostille rather than embassy legalization. Full Turkey apostille & authentication guidance →

USCIS REQUIREMENTS

How USCIS Wants Your Turkish Academic Transcript Translated

For your Turkish academic transcript, USCIS requires a complete English translation of everything on the page — the issuing office’s details, seals, and any marginal notes included — plus a signed certification of accuracy under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). Machine translation cannot sign that certification. We reproduce the document's exact layout so an officer can compare it line by line against your Turkish original.

WATCH OUT FOR

Common Turkish Academic Transcript Pitfalls

Turkish transcripts must preserve every subject, grade, credit, and the original grading scale so an evaluator can convert them; dropping the scale or rounding grades invites a rejection.

Native Turkish Specialist

A native speaker of your document's language handles it — not a generalist or a machine.

Format-Matched to the Original

USCIS Acceptance Guaranteed

If USCIS rejects it citing the translation, we fix it free and cover your resubmission fee.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Turkish academic transcript translation cost?

A standard Turkish academic transcript is typically $15-25 total, certified and formatted, delivered in 24-48 hours. Pricing is $0.05 per word; longer or multi-page documents are quoted exactly before you pay.

Is your Turkish academic transcript translation accepted by USCIS?

Yes. Every translation includes a signed Certificate of Accuracy meeting 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). If USCIS rejects it citing the translation, we correct it free and reimburse your resubmission fee.

Does USCIS require an apostille on my Turkish documents, or just a translation?

USCIS itself requires a complete English translation with a signed Certificate of Accuracy under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) — not an apostille. Turkey is a Hague Apostille member, so an apostille (from the Valilik/Kaymakamlık for civil records, or the courthouse for court decisions) authenticates the original document for official use; some petitions and consular steps ask for it, but the certified translation is what USCIS is checking. We translate the document and its apostille if one is attached.
